Monza is delighted to share another successful project completion, a transformation of the former Cafe Rouge restaurant into the new, vibrant Amalfi Ristorante. The project marked an exciting opportunity to reconfigure a much-loved site in the heart of St Paul’s Churchyard, for our long standing client, The Big Table Group.
An iconic setting, for an all-day dining experience
The project took place in St Paul’s, London – in the heart of the City, steps away from St Paul’s Cathedral. In a prime setting, the Amalfi conversion provides a diverse experience throughout the day, with handcrafted cocktails at an inviting bar and dining area, perfect for occasions and events.
Crafting the transformation, a five-week timeline.
The conversion took place over just a swift five-week schedule, another rapid completion. The Monza team carried out a full strip-out and rebuild, replacing every aspect of the restaurant’s interior. A combination of contemporary materials, artisan finishes and carefully considered detailing has created a setting perfect for a familiar and new audience. Efficient management from inception to completion ensured delivery of the project at the required timescale.
A successful rejuvenation…
The project conversion involved a full transformation, covering a wide scope of refurbishment and design enhancements, including:
• Complete removal and replacement of the kitchen, with new floor structures, services and finishes
• Installation of new lighting throughout, to create a warm and welcoming ambience
• Application of bespoke broken marble floors and brick walls
• New decorative finishes, including striking artwork murals to capture the Italian scene
• Comprehensive new signage scheme throughout
• Modifications to joinery
Monza’s reflections on the project:
“This is the forth time we have worked on this site, having originally built from shell stage and conducting two prior refurbishments in the past 20 years. It has been a genuine pleasure to return again and take on the challenges of a fast-paced completion. The updated space is primed for an ideal dining experience.“
Looking ahead
After the success of the Amalfi conversion, Monza look forward to continuing a long-standing relationship with The Big Table Group for future refurbishment and rebrand projects.
